Essene Cassidy elected as NMBI President
 

Essene Cassidy has been elected as the new President of NMBI.  Sheis a registered Children’s, General and Public Health Nurse with over 25 years nursing experience.  She is currently an Assistant Director of Public Health Nursing attached to the Early Years Inspectorate, Tusla.  She has been a Board member of NMBI since October 2012 .  Read more

New overseas registration process introduced
 
A new five-step overseas registration process has been launched.  The most significant change involves providing overseas applicants with online access to allow them to track their applications. All forms have been updated and a new Guide for Overseas Applicants has been published. Read about the new process.

Vacancies in NMBI Registration and Finance Departments
 
A recruitment process is underway to fill two vacancies in NMBI’s Registration and Finance Departments, for a Project Officer (Grade 7) and a Finance Supervisor (Grade 5) respectively.  The deadline for applications is Friday 12th February. Learn more

New requirements and standards for nurse/midwifery education
 

New requirements and standards for undergraduate nursing and midwifery programme are due to be launched by NMBI on 9th February. This follows the completion of a two-year project to ensure the standards and requirements meet the obligations under the Nurses and Midwives Act 2011, EU Directive 2013/55/EU and recommendations from the Report of the Review of Undergraduate Nursing and Midwifery Degree Programmes (Department of Health, 2012).

The Standards and Requirements section of the website will be updated following the formal launch.
