HSE Home Birth Service launches polices, procedures & guidelines to support home birth

The HSE Home Birth Service recently convened two clinical professional seminars to launch a body of policies, procedures and guidelines to support home birth.

The seminars, held in both Athlone and Cork on 6 and 9 December 2016, were very positively received. Eighteen evidence based policies, procedures and guidelines and an information leaflet developed in conjunction with NALA were presented for piloting over the next twelve months within the National Home Birth Service. Advanced practice: dates to note
 

NMBI registration meetings will take place on the following dates:

  • 14 February 2017
  • 16 May 2017
  • 5 September 2017
  • 5 December 2017

Job descriptions should be sent to NMBI Advanced Practice Section by 18 January 2017 for consideration at the February meeting.

Applicants going forward for registration as advanced practitioners must submit portfolios on or before 1 February 2017 for consideration at the February meeting. For details on submission of portfolios visit our website.

This is an open recruitment event for nurses and midwives from all disciplines who are interested in working in the Irish public health services.

The event will provide an opportunity for nurses and midwives to obtain information and guidance on the range of exciting employment opportunities that are available across our health services. Attendees can apply and interview for jobs on the day and get information on Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) registration and garda vetting requirements. This will be the first in a series of career day events for nurses throughout 2017.
