NMBI ceasing the requirement for Annual/Biannual Renewal of the Collaborative Practice Agreement

Dear Registered Nurse Prescriber,

Further to our email of 2 December 2016, the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) has updated the Check the Register section of our website. You can now check the status of your CPA (valid/invalid) on the website in the Check the Register section on www.nmbi.ie

As you are aware, the Collaborative Practice Agreement (CPA) annual and biannual renewal notification system was discontinued in December 2016. Therefore, your current CPA remains valid and will continue to be noted as such on the NMBI registration system unless you have notified us of your CPA termination. If you have notified us of termination your status will be noted as ‘Invalid’ and this will be reflected on the NMBI website.

RNPs wishing to recommence prescribing after terminating their CPA must develop a new CPA and notify the NMBI Registration Department of this by completing the Recommencement of Collaborative Practice Agreement Form available when logged in to the My Account section on the website.

Yours sincerely,

Registration Department Staff

Cc Director of Nursing/Midwifery/ Public Health Nursing/Service Manager
