I am a general, paediatric and public health nurse and I like many of you have faced Coronavirus head on with my team. We have seen all ends of the spectrum, the happy and the sad, and while we may not remember all the names of the people we have swabbed, counselled or helped directly we will take a little bit of them with us in our hearts.

Journalist Margaret Ward from The Irish Times worked with us, The International Council of Nurses, the HSE, The Department of Health, the INMO and many nurses and midwives from across the sector to put together a fantastic article to celebrate Florence Nightingale’s Birthday. The front cover of the magazine also featured student midwife Aoife Byrne.

As you may be aware from our last ezine, we are running an initiative that aims to shine a light on the work that you do.

To mark the International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife we will publish your pictures in this ezine and on our website.
