Director of Midwifery, Dawn Johnston, Sabina Higgins and NMBI Board member, Denise Lawler

Director of Midwifery, Dawn Johnston and NMBI Board member, Denise Lawlor, represented NMBI at an event in Áras An Uachtaráin hosted by Mrs Sabina Higgins to celebrate breastfeeding week. The focus this year was that every feed counts.

"It was heartening to see so many breastfed babies and their mothers made feel so welcome at Áras An Uachtaráin and for such an important message to be promoted by Mrs Higgins," said Ms Johnston. "Anyone seeking further information regarding this should contact their midwife or public health nurse. Valuable support can also be obtained from the many peer support breastfeeding groups that are run round the country."
