The reason for this is twofold: 

• to familiarize the new Board and its Ethics Committee with the Code’s project work to date. 
• to support other professional guidance project development identified in the Board’s project implementation for the Nurses and Midwives Act 2011.  This includes examining the Scope of Nursing and Midwifery Practice Framework (2000) in view of a new Code.

Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland thanks all the stakeholders who have participated to date with the Review, especially members of the Ethics Subgroup, and the External Advisory Group.  We look forward to consulting with registrants and the public about the Code and associated guidance on professional matters.
