Celebrate Midwives Week 2014
NMBI will be hosting the first Midwives Week from 28 April to 2 May 2014 to mark the recognition of midwifery as a separate profession. 


As part of the celebration, the Coombe Women’s and Infants University Hospital in partnership with NMBI will host their annual Essence of Care Conference on Thursday 1 May.

The conference will be held in Chartered Accountants House, Pearse Street, Dublin 2.  The theme for this year’s conference is “Collaboration in Maternal and Neonatal Care”.

NMBI Survey Into Public Attitudes To Nurses And Midwives

In the first research of its kind in Ireland, NMBI commissioned Amárach Research to conduct a survey of 1,001 members of the general public to identify public perception of nurses and midwives. Please click here for a full breakdown of the survey's findings.


 
Tax Credits On Registration Fees
For those nurses and midwives who are not claiming a tax credit for registration fees, the Board of the NMBI would like to bring to your attention that tax relief is available on annual retention fees. Please click here for further information.
 
NMBI New Fee Schedule 2014
At its meeting on 18 December 2013, the Board of NMBI approved changes to the fee schedule. This schedule will apply to all applications received by NMBI on or after 1 January 2014.


Please note the registration fee for first time newly qualified Irish Registrants has not changed.  Please click here for further details.

 
Irish Medicines Board (IMB) Safety Information about Counterfeit Dermal Fillers
NMBI is assisting the IMB in communicating the following safety information. IMB has recently been notified of the supply of counterfeit dermal fillers to the Irish market.  Please click here to read the safety letter and the accompanying safety notice.
