Call for expressions of interest for membership of Site Visit Inspections Team (Midwifery)

The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) is seeking expressions of interest from Registered Midwives to participate in the work of the education department regarding site visit inspections.

 

The Role

The Nursing and Midwifery Board (NMBI) has the statutory responsibility to approve third level institutions and associated healthcare institutions in respect of educational programmes leading to registration.


The approval process as part of the Board's quality education framework consists of three parts:

 

A: Approval of third level institution(s) and health care institution(s)

B: Approval of the education programme(s)

C: Review of annual reports

Consultation on the Draft 2019 NMBI Post Registration Specialist Nursing & Midwifery Education Programmes Standards and Requirements

NMBI is seeking feedback on the Draft 2019 NMBI Post Registration Specialist Nursing & Midwifery Education Programmes Standards and Requirements. These were developed to provide registered nurses and registered midwives with progressive, flexible and practice-oriented specialist education programmes.

Decisions following Fitness to Practise Inquiries

The Board of NMBI has made decisions as to findings and sanctions arising from two complaints received under the Nurses and Midwives Act 2011.

The fourth article of NMBI's Focus on FTP series has been published. This article is a case study regarding professional misconduct and poor professional performance.

 

The Focus on FTP series is an 8-part online series of articles from NMBI. These articles will focus on issues in relation to complaints made about registrants.

 

The primary aim of the series is to inform and guide registrants so that they have increased awareness of fitness to practise issues, and this can inform their practice and behaviour.
