Public consultation: NMBI statement of strategy 2017-2019

Draft statement of strategy 2017-2019
NMBI is currently preparing its statement of strategy to cover the period from 2017-2019. We want to challenge ourselves on how we can build a regulatory model that is relevant, modern, effective and fit for purpose. How we can be a regulator that is an enabler for our registrants to meet the nursing and midwifery standards today and in the future.

We would be delighted if you would take the time to submit your views on a draft strategy document (available here) by completing our short online consultation survey. The survey should take about ten minutes to complete.

Category 1 approval

NMBI has commenced drafting a proposed framework for the professional competency scheme, which will involve wide national consultation with nurses and midwives over an extensive period of time.

In the interim, the process of reviewing and approving programmes of education and conferences (Category 1 approval) will remain unchanged. NMBI awards one CEU for 40-60 minutes of contact or participation in teaching and learning activity during a recognised and approved CPD or in-service training course of study/conference.
