Board Election 2017
 
The Nurses and Midwives Act 2011 stipulates that all those on the Register, both active and inactive, are entitled to vote. Therefore voting information has been posted to every nurse and midwife who was registered with NMBI on 21 August 2017 at 1.00pm. If you have not received this information email election2017@nmbi.ie quoting your NMBI PIN.

The electronic ballot will open on Wednesday, 20 September 2017 at 9.00 am. The ballot will close on Thursday, 28 September at noon.

Advanced practice - dates to note
 

The next Registration Committee meeting will take place on 5 December 2017.

Please note the following submission dates:

Job descriptions  must be submitted to the Advanced Practice Section of NMBI on or before 26 October 2017.

Portfolios must be submitted to the Advanced Practice Section of NMBI on or before 9 November 2017.

 

Please note transcripts for the masters and relevant specialist post-registration programme(s) must be submitted directly to Advanced Practice Section of  NMBI by the higher education institution.

Professional Competence Scheme
 
The Nurse and Midwives Act 2011 provides for NMBI to develop a scheme(s) to monitor the maintenance of competence for all registered nurses and midwives.  

NMBI has commenced a project to develop a Professional Competence Scheme for nurses and midwives and we are eager to hear your opinions.  We will engage in a wide consultation process with nurses, midwives, key stakeholders and the public shortly.  Updates will be published in the ezine.

Cork Autism Conference 2017
 

The Cork Autism Conference 2017 will take place on Sunday, 17 September 2017 in the Clayton Hotel Silver Springs, Tivoli, Cork from 9am to 5.30pm.

The programmw includes talks and discussions from healthcare practitioners, specialists and spokespersons in autism and Asperger's syndrome. Find out more.


Findings and Decisions
 

The Board of NMBI has made a decision as to findings and sanctions arising from two complaints received under the Nurses and Midwives Act, 2011.


The findings were made against Mr Joseph Aaron Bates (PIN 111614) and Ms Nora Bernadette Regan Territt (PIN 24469).
