NMBI publishes Fitness to Practise findings and decisions
 
The Board of NMBI has published findings and sanctions arising from eight complaints received under the Nurses Act 1985.

The findings were made against Ms Kathleen Ann A Kelly (PIN 2408), Ms Margaret Dolores Quinn (PIN 2268), Ms Sá½·ona Anne Wallace (PIN 133680), Mr Graham Stuart Brown (PIN 82278), Ms Mary Monica (Marie) O’Sullivan (PIN 34464), Ms Marilyn L Dagaerag Jacalan (PIN 111108), Mr Mario Dumangas Cuaton (PIN 85409) and Ms Eleanor O’Dwyer (PIN 55427).

Submissions sought on Dementia End-of-Life-Care guidance
 
The Irish Hospice Foundation is seeking submissions by 1 May on a guidance document which has been produced as part its three year programme called Changing Minds: Promoting Excellence in End of Life Care for People with Dementia.  Find out more.

National Immunisation Office urges pertussis vaccination in pregnancy
 
Pertussis (whooping cough) is a serious disease and vaccination is the best way to reduce the risk of infection in the mother and to reduce the morbidity and mortality in infants too young to be vaccinated. Find out more.

Practice Standards for Midwives to be launched on 5 May
On 5 May, to mark the International Day of the Midwife, NMBI will launch new Practice Standards for Midwives.  The new standards are aligned to the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics.  The new standards will be available for download on the NMBI website from 5 May.
