NMBI appoints new CEO, Mary Griffin
 
Mary Griffin, CEO
Mary Griffin has been appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).

Ms Griffin, who officially commences on 7 June 2016, joins NMBI from CORU where she established and led the Corporate Affairs function for what is Ireland’s first ever multi–profession regulator. She previously worked in management consulting and operations roles across both the public and private sector over a 25-year period.  Ms Griffin succeeds Dr Maura Pidgeon in the role of CEO of NMBI, and is to follow Ms Ursula Byrne who remains interim CEO until Ms Griffin’s commencement. Board approves removal for non-payment of ARF
 
The Board of NMBI approved the removal of names from the Register of nurses and midwives for non-payment of Annual Rentention Fees at their meeting on Tuesday, 24 May 2016. Read more.

Sligo Stoma Care Nurse Specialist named British Journal of Nursing Stoma Care Nurse of the Year
 
Congratulations to Susan Moore, Clinical Nurse Specialist Stoma Care at Sligo University Hospital, who was named The British Journal of Nursing Stoma Care Nurse of the Year at The Gala Awards Ceremony at The Shakespeare’s Underglobe London on 11 March 2016. Susan was the only nurse from an Irish hospital to be shortlisted.
