The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland’s national consultation activities on the development of the new code of professional conduct and ethics have been temporarily deferred. The deferral is related to the delay in the establishment of a Board. The Executive is currently working on an implementation plan for Board functions and associated projects as a result of the Nurses and Midwives Act of 2011.

The details about the revised dates for the Code consultation period will be circulated in the near future on our website and ezine. Any comments on the Code project can be emailed to reviewofcode@nmbi.ie.

Notice to all Registrants and Employers regarding Annual Retention Certificates 2013

We wish to advise of a technical issue currently being experienced in issuing Annual Retention Fee Certificates. This technical problem is being urgently addressed and if you have paid your 2013 Annual Retention fee recently we are endeavouring to get your Certificate issued to you as quickly as possible.

If you are an employer and have instructed your staff to produce their Annual Certificate for 2013, please be aware of the current situation as noted above. If you are an employer and you wish to check the status of a staff member, please do so using the following link.

3rd National Patient Safety Conference, Friday 24 May 2013

The 3rd National Patient Safety Conference will take place on Friday 24 May 2013 in the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, Kildare Street, Dublin 2.

A full day Conference Programme is being drawn up at present and will include national and international speakers. Registration for the Conference will open shortly.
