Midwives Week 2014

NMBI are holding the first Midwives Week in recognition of Midwifery as a separate profession. Midwives Week will take place from April 28 – May 2 2014.  The theme for the week is “Promoting Safe Care for Mother and Baby".


The purpose of the week is to raise public awareness of the vital role of the midwife in our healthcare system. We plan to use the week as an opportunity to inform and educate members of the public, mothers and colleagues about the role and contribution of midwives in Ireland.

CWIUH/NMBI Conference 2014: Call for Posters

To celebrate Midwives Week 2014, The Coombe Women & Infants University Hospital in partnership with NMBI will hold the 2014 Essence of Midwifery Care Conference: Collaboration in Maternal and Neonatal Care on Thursday 1 May 2014, in the Chartered Accountants House, Pearse Street, Dublin 2.

6. Education Programme Fetal Monitoring in Practice

The State Claims Agency, Clinical Indemnity Scheme will hold a programme entitled 'Fetal Monitoring in Practice' on Tuesday 7 October in the Centre for Midwifery Education in the Coombe Women and Infant's University Hospital, Dublin 8.
