The National Clinical Learning Environment Guideline document was written for all registered nurses and registered midwives, who are engaged in the teaching and assessing of pre-registration nurses and midwives in clinical settings and who are supported by academic staff in the higher education institution(s) (HEIs) they are partnered with.

The three National Audit Tools were designed to determine the suitability of the clinical learning environment for students. The National Audit Tools will enable the standardisation of the Audit of Clinical Learning Environment nationally and of clinical assessment practices.
